I have always been interested in Art, Paper and Books. I attended Oswego State University for Graphic Design and transferred to Rochester Institute of Technology for Printing Technology Management. I opened Type 24, Inc. right after college and was the lead graphic designer concentrating on pre-press for printing production. After 7 years, Type 24 was put on the back burner to start a family and 20 years later I have time to get serious about paper, books and ink again.
While Employed in the Pittsford School District I found myself sharing my printing and paper making skills with the students. I assisted the students in a Service Learning Program where they learned how to recycle in our paper lab and greenhouse. I retired from the school District in 2018.
Flower City Art Center has been my home for the last two years as their Artist in Residence. I was able to get back on a platen press and use all of the equipment they have to refresh my letterpress and papermaking skills. www.rochesterarts.org.
My newest adventure is being Artist in Residence at Angelica Ink Letterpress. This shop is located in the beautiful Southern Tier of NY State. I am concentrating this residency on marbling paper, bookbinding and hair art.
